Gerhard Richter

Through our travels in seeking out the extraordinary Akua Designs ... came across Gerhard Richter in the Serpentine Gallery, and we were simply memorised. The use of colour to create linear landscapes, was simply breath taking.

 Richter studied in Dresden Art Academy mainly focussing on free painting and mural painting. Richter's graduation piece was a large scale mural piece, his main influences during that period was Jackson Pollock and Lucio Fontana.

Richter's growth through art later transformed into mixed media using photography, figurative art and influences from Pop Art & minimalism.
