The quintessentially British print is making an appearance on lampshades, giving the traditional interior a contemporary twist.

What is Design?

Today we would like to explore what DESIGN really is. Many people affiliate themselves as being designers whether it is though education or experience. In the 21st century it is a word that has been diluted to appoint, where everybody claims to be a designer whether it be in fashion, architecture or interiors.

According to the Oxford English dictionary design is defied as: “a plan or drawing produced to show the look and function or workings of a building, garment, or other object before it is made”

Here at Akua Designs London we like to defy design as: “An innovative creation, of a concept, object or theory which creates a platform for people to talk about”

Design has the ability to break through cultural & political boundaries, bringing communities together, design is the celebration of  innovative theorists.

Enjoy our selection of images, and join us in our discussion in: What does Design mean to you?

Graphics offer a quick taster of whats in store, the best graphics are always clean cut with 3 basic typography colours, with enough white space to see the products. Whether it be fashion, music or design, it's always important to sell the product & capture the audience. Below we have a look at eye catching  flyers which make you look twice.
